The Stellar Minds Essay Competition
A STEM essay competition, demonstrating knowledge and research skills on a topic listed below, ranging from prompts about astrochemistry, to the use of computing and Artificial Intelligence in space missions.

You can only submit ONE essay from any of the following topics (1000-2000 words):

1. The future of space exploration - Discuss if you think private companies will lead the next major breakthroughs in space exploration, surpassing governmental space agencies.

2. Quantum mechanics and its impact on modern technology - Do you agree or disagree: Quantum computing will render current encryption methods obsolete, posing a significant threat to cybersecurity.

3. Energy sources for future space missions - Evaluate various energy sources that could power future space missions.
​
4. The role of Artificial Intelligence in space exploration - Evaluate the importance of AI in the success of long-duration space missions, such as manned missions to Mars.
​
5. Astrochemistry - Discuss how chemical processes in space could contribute to the formation of complex organic molecules, and evaluate what this reveals about the potential for life beyond Earth.
6. Adaptations of living organisms needed to survive and evolve on another planet - Explore the biological challenges of extraterrestrial environments, and propose how life forms could evolve or be engineered to thrive under such extreme conditions.
